Karen Hicks is originally from South wales in the UK but she has been working in Aotearoa New Zealand since 2008. Karen has over 20 years experience of working in the health sector in nursing, managerial, community health development and health promotion positions. She has qualifications in nursing,a Cert Ed, BSc Health Studies, MA Health Promotion and she is currently studying for a MPH at Auckland University. Karen is currently working as a Senior Health Promotion Strategist (Sector & Workforce Development)at the Health Promotion Forum of New Zealand. She is passionate about raising the profile of health promotion as an approach to address health inequities.
