K Gillham- bio Karen is the Health Promotion Service Director of Hunter New England Population Health and has over 17 years’ experience in the Health Promotion field. During her career Karen has been involved in the management of projects focused on reducing alcohol-related harm, health impact assessment, and increasing workplace and school health promotion practices. Karen has published a number of papers in peer reviewed journals and made numerous conference presentations, at both national and international forums. Ms Gillham has been an investigator or associate investigator on a number of successful grants. At present, research is not a core element of Ms Gillham's role as Service Director for Hunter New England Population Health. However, Ms Gillham is currently an active participant in a number of advisory groups, supporting 3 large-scale controlled trials. As a result of this, Ms Gillham has spent 10% of her time in the last five years performing research-related activities.
