Dr Janette Young is currently lecturer and Program Director for the Bachelor of Health Sciences at UniSA, and president AHPA SA branch. She has a long and speckled career in Health Promotion starting when she tried to set up a therapy group for older lonely men in the 1990s. They were not interested in therapy but for 3 years happily went on outings proving that they had a much better idea of what created their health than she did! Since then she has given up on theraping and has a keen interest in the structural impactors on health - what promotes or blocks wellness? For example housing policy, pets and people, higher education accessibility...And engaging the next generation in getting excited about (structural) health creation/promotion.
